Vleetri is from the House of Horu; a race of Solar resembling the Egyptian God Horus. She is completing her Rite of Passage to become a Navigator, one of the Solar Elite despatched to the stars from the Home World at the centre of the All to beyond the Rim, and while cataloguing a new System and looking for new species, her Ship decodes a signal—a noise in space.
